My Intentions and Possible Ideas

My Intentions

Through my analysis I understand the conventions of a Hip-Hop orientated magazine to a rock and pop music magazine.

Through my target audience research I have found out that most people between the ages of fifteen and nineteen enjoy magazines; furthermore music magazines are of a higher preference, and Hip-Hop being the preferred genre compared to rock music. Most people questioned on the questionnaire a drawn to the magazine from the masthead and the celebrity on the front cover of the magazine. The magazine register is preferred to be informal.

Therefore I plan to meet the following conventions by having a Hip-Hop magazine; with a famous celebrity on the front cover of the magazine; an easy to understand and recognise masthead. The register of the magazine will be informal and the font will be easy to read. However, I plan to challenge my conventions by having new ideas which will differentiate the magazine from the competitors because I want to target the appropriate market niche; and so consumers can tell the magazine is of a high class music magazine standard but also different to the competitors.

Possible Ideas for the Music Magazine

The front cover of the magazines layout will contain: A large recognisable masthead on the top left; a large image of a famous Hip-Hop artist; sell lines and buzzwords along the sides of the magazine; a consistent theme of fonts and colours. The magazine will contain: a contents page; with a large image of a famous Hip-Hop artist, and also a double page spread with text and images about a Hip-Hop artist.
